To Live and to Love

Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Deuteronomy 30:19-20.

Snow Day Take Two March 3, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — mrsschrage @ 9:34 am

Yesterday was crazy, just crazy. We played in the snow (thumbs up to that) but didn’t make a snowman (boo!). We did have one major tantrum at the end of the day during which Jeff was AWESOME and handled it so well. I was close to panicky (which I am not supposed to become) but by bedtime everyone was calm again. The kids have a second snow day today (actually a last minute “teacher conference day” which sounds shady to me…) but lucky for us, it’s our day off and our staff assistant has the kids. I felt really badly for her when we found out last night that it was a second unstructured day in a row and she would have to deal with it alone. At least the kids liked last night’s chili!

Jeff’s in Charlotte for class and I’m trying to decide between laundry, painting the bedroom, or forgetting it all and joining him for a true day off…

On another note, Christian Audio’s free-book-of-the-month for March is Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life by Donald Whitney. I’ve never read it but I’ve heard good things about it.

It is a good book. We own a couple copies of it. The church I went to in college used it for the “college-age Sunday school class” aka: Cedarville students.

    I vote join him.

It is a great book and comes highly recommended by D. Whitla. I just spent “big” bucks purchasing it from the leftover books at SSRPC, when I was down there for TFW. Thanks for posting! I love hearing anything and everything from you!
