To Live and to Love

Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Deuteronomy 30:19-20.

I miss you, Grandpa. I wish you could have met the man you always wanted for me, my husband. Grandpa, you would like Jeff. He’s a big Patriots fan, a fact which would drive you crazy, but at least it would give you two lots to talk about. He’s a hard worker and you would appreciate that about him. He’s a lot like you, and he’s always telling me how if ______ did it his way, ______ would be much more efficient and better. The wedding was a nice day, but I wish you could have been there. The reception was in an older lodge; it reminded me of you. Jeff has made me so happy and I wish you could see how happy I am. A lot has changed in a year. Clara has your eyes. It is funny how much she looks like you. Emily’s going to have another baby. Kevin graduated from law school. I know you would be so proud of what your family has done this year. I love you, Grandpa.

Oh, Shannon, I know how you feel. I still miss my own grandfather so much after all these years. So many reminders of him. I wish he could share in the joy of finding the love of my life.
